Opinion on "warp-like" drive

It is my opinion, that if a person were to transport using methods that exist, that they would seem to disappear and re-appear at the destination point. In addition the point of arrival would see the nearly instantaneous appearance of the device. Thus it would seem to vanish and re-appear from the perspective of the universe, however the intervening existential effect on the person traveling is subject to some ambiguity from my ability to understand the effect. I suppose it would not be known until it was done. It might be very unpleasant.
