There is a condition where the mind can see or hear things that cannot be done without some previous knowledge about the situation. It is a form of training that can be temporal or to some degree permanent. It takes some experience with concepts to be able to identify aspects of them when presented and see the more complicated aspects. In these images as an example of Yafray tracing it is obvious to me where the differences are and to an untrained eye it may be impossible to see?
