Diamonds are for using not looking

It has long been possible to make diamonds that "outshine" natural diamonds and that is one of those silly scams that make this world such a weird place when people conceal the fact that diamonds no longer have a rarity value and people just go right along with the deception. I see they have discovered a star that has become a diamond. I wonder what heiress or potentate would be big enough to wear that as a crown jewel. I worked in hyper-baric crystal generation and assumed decades ago that diamond generation was also possible then. It is a bit of culture shock when things keep changing so quickly and it is difficult to take a firm stance anywhere to say this is absolute and immutable, when it seems the very nature of our understanding of the universe and self is advancing so quickly that ideas from yesterday are outdated by the speed of the internet. I get the feeling that I should tell people to wake up and enjoy the nanosecond, there will be another coming soon so relish this stability for a billionth of a second and then move on to the future.
