If a computer can beat anybody at poker and chess, why would you not expect it to be better at economics and warfare? The end result is that intelligence is better than brute force. What a shock. The person with the best software wins. Hmmmm, I think there is a real battle brewing here. Can open source dominate the machine intelligence business? I think that it would. The result of some numb skull in the DoD or ROC or USSR having a computer that could out think everybody else is that one single entity would control the entire population and of course, based on history this would turn out well. NOT
What makes more sense? Attracting all people to create a super intelligent architecture that each shares equally or a system where people are paid or coerced to do the same for a nation or corporation and they know full well that when they are done they will be shit.
