It isn't that simple

I love all these relationships with data that show a specific gene 'causes' X. The problem is that they have already started overloading of the effects. Gene A causes X! Gene A causes Y! It is a statistical association and is not a causal association. I like the ideas and work, but the work product sucks bugs. It is a complex chemical environment and many different factors interact. I am sure that some of these things are coupled without interference from many other properties. I am afraid that I detect bias and journalism in the results.
