I think that people in general are not stupid, but if I keep you from knowledge for most of your life then it will be difficult for you to deal with it sensibly.
As a general rule, I can see the product of people's minds when I browse through blogs and comments and books. It is obvious that there is an undercurrent of freedom of knowledge that pervades the planet and it must be as frustrating to others as it is to me to see that people are purposely placed in the dark and used as tools of a few who feel that it is their right to distort others as if they were their cattle.
You don't need to be 100% effective to use the technique. You only need to control enough people to force the rest into physical compliance. Fear, confusion, hate, greed, and love are tools that become the levers that they use to pry reason from the mind.
It is and was a bad principle to apply and is cheap mental mechanics that is bound to have adverse consequence in the long term. The people who are willing to do this must also be quite insane.
It is a shame that with all the promise of science, that the very nature of the organism is it's worst enemy.
