This is an odd one and I just thought of it so I it isn't well thought through. If a person wears metal rings on their legs and ankles that are larger in diameter than their hands and feet, then they can't be effectively handcuffed. ( IT might be a good exercise weight also ) mainly I do not like to be placed in chains.
Obviously the person controlling the chains has to be smarter than the creature they hope to control.
