Boundary system oscillators

An interesting thing I discovered recently is boundary condition oscillators. An analogy would be a plastic that has a sharp transition from liquid to solid or ice. By stabilizing the system at the solid phase boundary and applying a solid wave distortion it is possible to create standing wave sequences that reshape the structure and also produce self modifying loops by the stochastic flow. I am not specifically applying it to thermodynamic systems, so this is merely a place holder to remind me of the topic and method for further analysis.
