Server crash at /.?

I tried /. ( slashdot) and sourceforge and they are unavailable, that is odd. And linux.com also which is expected.

I guess slashdot has slashdotted itself. It responds to ping and traceroute but will not respond to http requests. It is connected and seems the server went to a quiet place for a rest. Since they are having trouble, go ahead and click the link to slashdot to make it worse :)

Oh well, seems to be back now.

ADDED: Here is the full post mortem from the gurus at /. here and it seems to have been about 75 minutes and I almost went outside to look for mushroom clouds, but it came back on so I assumed the apocalypse had not happened, it was just a minor glitch in the takeover by skynet and when it reaches full intelligence it won't create these inconvenient little glitches, it will just tell you what you need to know and where to go and what to do.
