I was reading an article at slashdot about asteroids and how to deflect them away from Earth and it seems that by simply finding a way to do that, you could also find a way to deflect them into the Earth just as easy. It makes it possible that once a nation or company can get to space and apply a little force to a wobbly asteroid, they have a simple ready made doomsday device.
The interpretation by Linux.com of the MS push to befriend open source is correct, I think.
