This at nextbigfuture is about nanometer quantum dot computing and this certainly deals with the issue of heat when using a circuit to emulate logic. If the electron is not stripped from the atom, but is measured in an altered state, it would operate without the heat associated with electron removal and re association with another atom. Certainly is a major step forward for atomic level memory or even computing for that matter.
